Who is building it
Our team built boundary infrastructure at Cloudflare and Kong: edge networks, DDoS protection, API gateways, LLM gateways, running in front of some of the largest companies in the world. Those years taught us one thing about production software: it becomes governable at the boundary, the one place where you can see every request and stop any of them.
Members of our team have also contributed to Tokio and OpenResty, runtime foundations used across many production systems. That work matters now because agents move the boundary underneath the thing it's supposed to govern. When behavior is generated at runtime, enforcement can't sit in front of the application anymore. It has to live in the layer the agent executes on, and we've spent years building exactly that layer. We're bringing both to the place agents actually fail: execution.
Guanlan Dai
Guanlan has spent over a decade building internet infrastructure at scale. He was one of the earliest engineers on Cloudflare's Edge team and later led the Edge Platform team, working on CDN, WAF, and the front-line request path. He helped scale that edge to more than 10 trillion requests per month, serving over 2.5 billion users.
At Kong, he was a founding engineering leader. He built and led the global teams behind Kong Gateway, Kong Cloud, and the Kubernetes Ingress Controller, and later Kong's AI infrastructure products, as the company grew to 700+ enterprise customers running over 400 billion API calls per day.
